I told my dad that I went on a date with a doctor. He goes, "GOOOOOOD. how was it?" I said that I didn't find him attractive. He couldn't hear me due to the shotty cell phone service and asked, "What? You didn't find him attractive or he didn't find you attractive?"

I yelled back, "WHAT?! Why would you consider that even an option-that he wouldn't find ME attractive?"

My dad inferred by my tone of voice and screeching voice that he said the wrong thing and he guardedly replied with, "I don't understand English very well."

Damn, my dad played the race card.
to supervisor: how the hell am i supposed to write 9 treatment summaries in the TWO FREE HOURS that I have in the next two weeks. seeing that I have a full case load, there is little time to squeeze in paperwork. what? you want me to write detailed treatment summaries about their life and future plans? well you can kiss my ass.
my supervisor is being a douchebag. you cant expect me to put in a shitload of work in two days. stupid bastard!

The following is an excerpt from the New York Times section, Social Q's

My friend and I have played tennis together for many years. Lately, I’ve noticed his cheating on line calls. This has been confirmed by others. I haven’t said anything to him for fear of damaging our relationship, but I’m starting to get frustrated that he is winning points at my expense. How do I handle this?

The following is my own answer to B.D.

Dear BD,
Who in the hell keeps real score in pretend tennis? Use your tennis racket, smack your friend in the ass and call him a fucking liar. When it's your time to serve, wack that shit into his face. Next, take your left hand and smack your own face for being such a pussy and asking a stupid question.

my boy 2nd roommate just looked at me like i was crazy when i asked if i could borrow a book.

i have also taken to have pretend conversations with the third roommate whenever i walk by her. i say in my head, "how do you do today," and I imagine her friendly reply, "oh great. thanks for asking. how was your weekend?" we engage in light chit chat and continue with our banter, I commenting on the chilly weather and fog that has just rolled in, she offering me a cup of coffee. I compliment the wonderful flowers her visiting house guest has bought for us and we laugh as we exit the kitchen and go on our merry ways, returning to our respective rooms, typing away at the computers, smiling that we have found such great people to live with.

in reality, i sit at the kitchen table, staring out the window into the second story kitchen of the opposing building, hoping that a tenant is cooking breakfast or washing dishes so i can imagine another life in another building and ignore the roommate as she fumbles around the kitchen and warbles past me as she goes into the back room.

so i may not be totally over it, but i am out of the depression. i am willing to accept that it's over...for now. it's over enough to know that I have a lot of living to do and it's time to enjoy what i do have instead of what i don't have.
